I have missed blogging and hope to be doing more of it now that the summer is starting. While I had a brief moment in world yesterday, I seized the opportunity to run over to the World Goth Fair 2013 sims, Cursed and Port Seraphine. There is something about darkness that calls me into its alluring mystery where one’s inner demons can be let out to play even if for a little while. I cannot call myself a true Goth, though I’m not entirely sure I know what qualifies as a true Goth to begin with seeing as stereotypes (often incorrect) abound. But there is something that I find cunningly attractive about the gothic lifestyle despite understanding it so little.
I wandered about World Goth down dark pathways quite content to peek into each booth I came across to discover what might be waiting inside. I found this dark and sexy mesh outfit by Sakide called Inkubus with its studded bra, long arm warmers caressing my wrists, and high-waisted short pants that I couldn’t resist taking with me.
Some of the proceeds from sales at the World Goth Fair go to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. It is an interesting cause both because it is different from the normal charity and also because of the sadness of the reason for it having been founded. The sheer amount of ways that people can think up to discriminate over is truly mind boggling. You can find out more information about who Sophie Lancaster was on the World Goth Fair website. I am very happy to support a cause that lends itself toward increasing awareness to the need for tolerance and acceptance of others who are different from ourselves.
I found this cool weathered stool by The Nawty Box at WGF also and it has some nice poses included inside (showing above and last photo). The eerie skin I’m wearing is Khalida from Nuuna and I’m loving the necro horns that Half-Deer contributed to WGF. There are other colors in addition to the red and black that I’m wearing here. And though CoLLisions is at the World Goth Fair this year too, I didn’t pick up their tattoo and the necklace I’m wearing at the fair but rather at their store.
Included above are the maps for both sims to help you to find the stores easier and I’ve added the slurl’s to each picture for clicking on. So there’s very little excuse not to go and check out World Goth Fair for yourself! It’s a darkly fun event that will be ending on May 31st!
The large and flamboyant dark fae wings I’m wearing are part of a developers kit by Unrepentant and they come in pieces or together without the texture already put on but that’s neat because you can easily change the texture to whatever you’d like. The one above comes included and I found it suit my needs just perfectly. There’s lots of room for creativity with these wings, however!
