The Allure of DE Designs & Other Ramblings
So I’ve been living under a rock apparently and enjoying life in my own peaceful bubble because I had no knowledge of the skin drama that’s been going on between Hush, Curio, League, and I’m not sure who else. I wanted to mention my thoughts because I am admittedly fond of Hush and a sincere fan of her skins. However, I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the Curio and League owners. Though I don’t own any Curio skins because they never seemed to fit my shape, I do have and love my League skins. I’ll continue to chatter as I show you this fabulous new mesh corset that DOC of DE Designs has put up in his store! It’s called Allure and in my opinion it is most certainly alluring.
I’m also pleased to be sporting DE Designs mesh pants sold separately and the new Hush Juliette! So as I was saying about the skin drama. Once, some years ago, I publicly took a stand against content theft believing wholeheartedly that I was on the right side of the drama and I got burned, dragging the company I was working for at the time into unnecessary drama. Since then I’ve vowed not to take sides in such things. As a blogger and as a consumer, I shouldn’t be expected to know where content creators got their templates and if they are the same as another content creator’s. I am not and won’t be judge or jury, especially without having sure facts from real sources that are not in some way biased on the subject.
I am saying now that I truly do not know who is telling the truth, who isn’t telling the truth, or who is telling partial truths in this disagreement between our cherished skin creators. I really don’t know. What I do know is that things like this cause the community at large emotional and mental distress, as well as the financial distress it causes for those who have been wronged. All I can do is plea to those who create for virtual communities, please don’t knowingly steal the work of another. Please…just don’t. Because it’s wrong.
I am wearing a recent Truth Hair release called Kirby and gorgeous color-changing jewelry by Zibska called Zara. The Zara set also comes with a flashy matching bracelet. Below is a look at the back clasp for the necklace that dangles on the neck. Love it!
The way I intend to handle the skin debate is to continue to wear what I personally enjoy wearing until or if items are removed from my inventory, because that to me would be more telling than anything else I hear or see. I will wear Hush and I will wear League happily because to me the skins simply don’t look like one another and if I have to search and search with a microscope before deciding what to wear, I may as well not be in this environment at all.
What I’ve said may not be popular, but I’ll tell you what I’m really hoping for here. I’m hoping that fans of Hush, fans of Curio, and fans of League, or any other skin company for that matter will not have to lose the brands we love. I am hoping that none of us will and that this can somehow be resolved satisfactorily and everyone just agree to quit ripping other people’s stuff if you are, or stop accusing people of ripping your stuff if you don’t know for sure if they even did. If your own content is less than acceptable and you like someone else’s better, it’s time to take some tutorials and get better at it yourself! This I’m not saying directly to anyone since I don’t know who’s really been wronged, just in general.
xoxoxo,
Ali
